Then you are reminded from the prayer of a child that we over complicate life. That was me yesterday. I use the TimeHop app on my iPhone. It sends you notifications daily as to what you posted on social media in previous years. A year ago I posted the prayer of my then 3 year old daughter Hannah:
Thank you we have food,
thank you for my Mommy and Daddy,
and that I have no reason to cry.
Christmas should be simple. We are celebrating the birth of the Savior of the World. Jesus came to us in a manger wrapped in cloth. A humble King.
Thank you Hannah for the reminder that Christmas is about making memories with family. Its a chance to go look at Christmas lights, drink hot chocolate, and watch Elf (best christmas movie ever!) These are the memories that I hope you have when you get older. Memories of being thankful for what we have and the people that are around you that love you.
Life should be simple. Memories are free. Grab some hot chocolate and go look at Christmas lights tonight with someone that you love. You will not regret it.
